The District and Community

The Gustine Unified School District covers an area of 224 miles. District Schools are; Gustine High School, Gustine Middle School, Gustine Elementary School, Pioneer High School, Gustine Adult Education School, and Romero Elementary School located in Santa Nella, CA.

Gustine is located in the northwestern portion of Merced County on the western side of the San Joaquin Valley. The community is made up of an estimated population of 5,000 residents and is surrounded by dairies, orchards, and farmland.

Gustine is a very clean city with well-kept neighborhoods and an attractive business community. Our recreational facilities are among the finest anywhere. Four parks grace our neighborhoods as well as three playgrounds, a swimming pool, and sports facilities. There are important community assets that provide for the many community activities and sporting events that Gustine enjoys. You can find most of what you need right in town, but if you need to get away for an afternoon of shopping; we're a 40 minute drive from two regional shopping malls.

Gustine is centrally located in central California being close to the San Francisco Bay area (90 miles), Sacramento (90 miles), Lake Tahoe (200 miles), Merced (30 miles), and Modesto (40 miles).

Regional colleges are available for the residents of Gustine with Merced College's Los Banos Campus, being located 20 miles from Gustine. Merced College is 30 miles away, and California State University Stanislaus is just 25 miles away in Turlock. The 11th campus of the University of California is in Merced.

The Gustine Unified School District is an excellent school district located in a small rural community and is an excellent place to raise children.
